Abstract

ABSTRACTThe low learning outcomes of V grade students of SD Negeri 1 Tumiyang in the science subject of magnetic force material are the focus of this research. Based on observations, the low learning outcomes were due to the lack of media used by the teacher to explain the material. To improve learning outcomes, the experimental method using magnetic media was applied. The purpose of this study was to improve students' understanding of magnets by directly proving the theories in the material. The research subjects totaled 22 students consisting of 10 boys and 12 girls. The results showed that the use of experimental methods can improve student learning outcomes as evidenced by the average science value of class V magnetic force material in the pre-cycle 69.05 in cycle I increased to 71.82, and in cycle II also increased to 91.36. The number of students who were complete or scored greater than or equal to the KKM in the pre-cycle was 9 students, in cycle I the students who were complete rose to 16 students, and in cycle II the students who were complete were 22, meaning that all students were complete in cycle II. Thus it can be concluded that compared to the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II value, the experimental method can improve student learning outcomes on magnetic force material.
