Children's literature consists of books and illustrations created to entertain young readers and provide them with moral values, insights into handling inner conflicts, and life lessons. Translating children's literature differs from regular translation because it not only conveys meaning into the target language but also ensures that children can easily comprehend the words and sentences. Therefore, translators must employ suitable translation techniques. This study focuses on the translation techniques employed by the translator when translating Disney's "The Lion King," originally written in English, into Indonesian. The study used a qualitative research design. The most used technique was literal translation, indicating the translator's effort to simplify sentences and maintain children's interest in reading. The writing and translation choices picture were influenced by the developmental aspects of young reader, resulting in the use of simple words.
