In recent years, the self-help industry has become increasingly popular. This trend is of interest to Translation Studies, as more self-help materials, particularly from English, are translated each year. Self-help books particularly ones that developed on religious materials often use abundant metaphorical structures which poses a challenge for translators deciding on the translation strategies they ought to apply. This paper employs descriptive-qualitative research to examine types of metaphors and the translation procedures used to translate them. Using Secret of Divine Love by A. Helwa as a case study, the researcher also explores the relationship between certain types of metaphors and translation procedures which is expected to serve as a useful reference for metaphor translation strategy in similar or across genres in the future.
